Echoes_008–2A
Nickname: “Locket Loop”
Danger Ranking: 2A
First Reported: 1990-08-04, Crescent, WA
Summary:
Echoes_008–2A, referred to as “Locket Loop,” is a temporal recurrence anomaly attached to a silver heart-shaped locket recovered from a burned residence in Crescent, Washington. The locket appears to be of late 1950s manufacture and is inscribed with the initials “A.H.” inside the clasp.
When held, the locket causes a compulsion in the subject to retrace physical actions performed within the previous ten minutes. These loops repeat indefinitely unless the subject is forcibly separated from the object or rendered unconscious. During these loops, subjects appear unaware they are repeating themselves until shown external evidence (e.g. video). Affected individuals often repeat the loop with slight variations, typically increasing in emotional distress over time.
After eight or more loops, some subjects begin speaking in a soft, high-pitched voice not recognized as their own. In these cases, the voice delivers cryptic or pleading phrases such as “you left me in the ash,” or “the photograph fell through the floor again.” Following the 13th loop, the locket heats rapidly and can cause 2nd degree burns.
Once separated from a subject, the locket becomes inert for a period of 12–18 hours before regaining anomalous properties.
